What you will do as our Senior Sous Chef

The Senior Sous Chef is responsible for leading, motivating and engaging the culinary team by executing the highest standard of culinary excellence. He/she oversees all food preparation for the restaurant in conjunction with the Corporate Executive Chef.  The Senior Sous Chef is also accountable for ensuring maximum productivity and cost-effectiveness through food and labour costing initiatives.

What we are looking for

  • A minimum of five years of culinary leadership experience in a dining environment
  • Post-secondary education in Culinary Arts Management or similar
  • Red Seal, Certified Chef de Cuisine designation Certification desirable
  • Must be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food
  • Strong business acumen
  • Efficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Self-starter, flexible and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Human resources skills such as: recruitment, selection, training, performance management
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Time management skills
  • Flexible work schedule, including the ability to work evening and weekends.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to break down and reassemble all equipment in the dept for sanitation purposes.
  • Handling sharp knives and other equipment (such as slicers)
